$70M From China to University of Penn and Biden Center; HK Police Arrest 180 People in a Day
Crossroads with JOSHUA PHILIPP Uploaded on 26 May 2020
Chinese authorities are moving to create new “security laws” that will extend the mainland’s control over Hong Kong. Since this goes against the “one country, two systems” policy that previously allowed relative freedom, Hong Kongers have renewed protests against the influence of Mainland China.
Hong Kong police were caught on camera stealing from a local shop. Other videos showed them spraying journalists with a water cannon. Thousands of protesters had gathered, and were dispersed with tear gas and arrests.
And as the U.S. Department of Education continues its probe into China’s influence in American universities, a complaint has been filed by the National Legal and Policy center, calling for an investigation into the University of Pennsylvania’s failure to disclose Chinese donations to its Biden Center for Diplomacy and Global Engagement.

Trump Signs Executive Order on Online Censorship; US to Take Strong Action Against China Over HK.
Crossroads with JOSHUA PHILIPP Uploaded on 28 May 2020
Chinese authorities are increasing military spending by 6.6%, even as the economy and other sectors are struggling to get on track amid the coronavirus. The move demonstrates the regime’s priorities, and comes alongside its new form of aggressive and often hostile “Wolf Warrior diplomacy.”
Xi Jinping, head of the Chinese Communist Party, has asked the People’s Liberation Army to scale up battle preparations, PLA soldiers in Hong Kong have promised to “deter separatist forces and external intervention,” and satellite images show China’s military bases have training replicas of foreign landmarks including Taiwan’s presidential building.
The actions of Chinese authorities are raising a key question: is a war with China possible? We elaborate on this issue, and other topics, in this episode of Crossroads.
Deep Dive into Trump’s Executive Order on Social Media.
Crossroads with JOSHUA PHILIPP Uploaded on 29 May 2020
President Donald Trump issued an executive order to prevent online censorship, and heavily targeted at social media giants Facebook, YouTube, Twitter and Instagram. Trump accused some of the platforms of political censorship, possible election interference, and for allegedly accepting money from foreign governments such as China to publish disinformation.
The executive order will remove the liability shield given to social media platforms if they engage in censorship or any form of “political conduct.” It will also include federal reviews of spending on these platforms, federal investigations into various forms of political censorship, proposals for new state laws to protect online speech, the drafting of federal law that could cement the new protections on free speech online, and more.
Trump Promises To Protect Country; US Riots' "Above and Below" Tactics.

Multiple reports and videos claim that weapons caches and pallets of bricks are being found in hotspots for the riots over the death of George Floyd, raising belief that unnamed groups have been planning and coordinated violence and arson.
In New York City, the Deputy Commissioner for Intelligence and Counterterrorism said unnamed groups are apparently sending scouts, medics, and supplies of equipment to commit vandalism and violence. Similar claims are being made by authorities in Minneapolis, and suspicious pallets of bricks have been found in many.
And amid accusations that extremist groups are trying to subvert the otherwise peaceful protests to incite violence for their own gain, we look into the "above and below" tactic that subversive movements use to achieve political goals.
NYC Mayor Under Fire for Rejecting National Guard; Religious Freedom EO Could be Major Blow to China.
Crossroads with JOSHUA PHILIPP Uploaded on 03 June 2020
New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio is being criticized by Governor Andrew Cuomo for his refusal to have the National Guard deployed to the City. De Blasio said local police have the situation under control, yet soon after his statement the NYPD Sergeants Benevolent Association issued a public letter to the NY Police Commissioner saying they do not have the situation under control, and that police officers are being attacked from all sides.
The letter calls into question whether the NYPD is capable of dealing with the situation, as de Blasio claimed. It states, “What this Department cannot do is stay the course: our efforts to take back the city from the lawless have thus far failed miserably.”
And President Donald Trump issued an executive order on religious freedom that could be a major blow to the Chinese government, where authorities have brutally persecuted religious groups including Tibetan Buddhists, Falun Gong practitioners, Muslim Uyghurs, and House Christians.
31 Years Since the Tiananmen Protests, Tens of Thousands Hong Kongers Defy Banned Vigil.

For the first time, Hong Kong is banning the annual memorial for the Tiananmen Square Massacre, commemorating the estimated 10,000 democracy protesters killed by the Chinese Communist Party on June 4, 1989. Local authorities have banned the gathering under the claim of social distancing with the COVID-19 coronavirus, yet Hong Kong residents are ignoring the ban and are joining the memorial event.
As Chinese authorities look to extend Mainland law into Hong Kong through the new “national security laws,” the UK government is considering creating a path to citizenship for close to three million Hong Kong residents who had British passports before the handover to China. The United States is now considering similar programs for Hong Kongers looking to escape.
And as protesters take to the streets across the United States, there is a growing concern it could lead to a second wave outbreak of the new coronavirus. Within two weeks to a month, the protests could show whether or not the lockdowns were necessary and effective to slow the spread of the virus.
Former Attorney General Claims FBI Lied On Trump-Russia; Videos Expose Extremists in the Riots.

Undercover investigative outlet Project Veritas published videos from a journalist sent to infiltrate an Antifa branch in Rose City, Portland, which shows the extremist organization’s structured programs for recruitment and training. As the video was released, journalist Andy Ngo filed a lawsuit against the Rose City branch of Antifa and several individuals for $900,000 for attacks on him in June 2019.
Meanwhile, Attorney General William Barr claims the US government has evidence of Antifa and other groups hijacking the George Floyd protests. He stated, “We have evidence that Antifa and other similar extremist groups as well as actors of a variety of different political persuasions have been involved in instigating and participating in the violent activity.”
And former deputy attorney general Rod Rosenstein testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee on June 3, where he explains how the FBI lied to him, which influenced his appointment of special counsel Robert Mueller for the FBI’s investigation of alleged Russian involvement in the 2016 presidential elections
Exclusive Infographic Shows How the WHO Colluded with the CCP, Misleading the World.

Did the World Health Organization collude with China on the new coronavirus pandemic? An investigative infographic from The Epoch Times shows a timeline of how it colluded, including proof that the Chinese government knew about the severity of the outbreak and hid it from the public, and that the WHO continued to parrot its lines regardless.
It also shows how China violated international health regulations through its actions, and how the WHO facilitated in China’s coverup of the pandemic.
The findings are significant amid international calls from countries including Australia, the United States, and parts of Europe to investigate China and the WHO for misleading the world on crucial information about the virus.
China Propaganda Outlet Paid Millions to US Media; Crossfire Hurricane Investigations Move Forward

China Daily, a state-run Chinese news outlet, released financial documents showing that it spent millions of dollars for paid content or inserts at major U.S. news outlets including the Wall Street Journal and the Washington Post. The outlets have noted the content was labeled as “advertisement.”
The China Daily inserts typically run under “China Watch,” and in addition to being registered as a foreign agent under FARA in the United States, China Daily was listed by the U.S. government as a “Foreign Mission” of the Chinese government.
And the “Crossfire Hurricane” investigations into whether the Trump campaign colluded with Russia are now turning into investigations into the investigators themselves. Top officials who helped launch the investigation may now be called on to testify, and risk jail sentences if wrongdoing is found.
