How do you choose which stocks to buy? As in , there are so many companies out there , we can't analyse all right? How do you know which stocks to analyse?

Sorry if this may be a real stupid question , as i've said i'm new to stocks.

Thank you Smile

I suggest before you even start to buy a company stock, you might want to identify & know yourself first.

First and foremost - are you a trader or investor or both, what is your investment time horizon and what is your philosophy? And how much you plan to set aside?

After which, read up SGX website to understand the technicalities of a stock market (e.g. buy/sell). Go to FAQ section. They have many answers for you.

Once you done that, look at emerging sectors/trends (if you are a chartists, you might be concern the next "big" thing). Do your groundwork research. For a start you can get some ideas from brokerage firms if you open an online trading account (e.g. DBSVickers, UOBKayHian, CIMB etc.)

After you do the top line, zoom into sector specific, then you might consider looking at companies.

So many things to do first - take step by step before you look at companies.

Trust that helps!

The above - a lot of people neber follow... esp the set aside thingy... Good advice to follow... be safe know ur limit... where to put a stop-loss... Always believe a buy - upside unlimited.... but when come to a sell - need to know when to run....
