well i use 4-3-1-2 and it really really works for me,BUT
i think it's not really the formation that decides either a team is good or not,i believe everyone has their own 'winning' formation,it depends on how they think and set up the tactics( set up the TEAM INSTRUCTION,decide the NARROW goes up or down,and don't forget also PLAYER INSTRUCTION)....ive been playing CM for like 5 years and i've tried alot of formation and it all works..
you see, every CM ( CM 01/02/03/04 ) has their 'unique' charasteristic, in CM03/04 for example, the charasteristic of a great player for ex. midf. is the pace,acceleration combined with dribbling at least 17....try find 'toledo from catanzaro' in CM 03/04, he ROCKS everytime i play him in MR ( With an arrow goes up )!!!
But not in FM05, the charasteristic is different,so far i found that we need BEST DRIBBLING in FM05 especially in midfield, try RONALDINHO, place him in AMC set ( in Team Instructions )'creativity works' around 60-70%, 'long shots' normal and don't forget put a 'goes up narrow'..
And in SC you'll need a player who has DRIBBLING at least 17,Long Shots at least 15,pace and acceleratin at least 15,and THE MOST IMPORTANT Is FINISHING at least 19..so far i think the best player is FERNANDO TORRES from At.Madrid,then ADRIANO of Inter..others players could be great but i havent tried them yet...
