Having worked in one of our casino, I noticed some really sad scenarios

1) Almost 9 out of 10 gamblers are locals
2) I always see the same people playing.

Out of curiousity, I asked casually some of these people, ''have u won so far'' ? I know the answer in my heart, but i just ask because i wanted to see their reactions. Some of them tried to divert the question by answering casually... ''sometimes win,sometimes lose loh'', some answered me directly ''lose until no more pants liao'' . I smiled back to them, deep inside they know they are addicts, but they cannot help it, sad isnt it? They will continue playing until reality hits them, that their money could be used for better means. But not until they lose all their money

Why the casinos will always win ? Simply because they have a edge.

1) Baccarat - 5% tax on Banker, or at Non-Commission Baccarat 50% tax on winning 6. Card rules steer to Banker's edge, so u cannot bet on Player and hope to have a 50-50 chance. How to win? Play once on banker, and leave if u win. That's how to win. AND DO NOT COME BACK AGAIN. If lose how? Its your luck really.

2) Blackjack/Pontoon- House gets to act last. We take your money if u bust. But if banker bust, we do not refund you your money. Really 50-50 meh?

3) Sic-Bo . Big/Small/Odd/Even seems 50-50 ? Any triple comes up and we will ''gob'' your bets.

4) Roulette- Special green 0 , your enemy. 37 numbers on the wheel(including 0) and we pay out 35 to 1 if u win, do the maths.

5) Stud Poker - We only qualify if we have Ace/King . So what if u get straight/flush or higher? We only pay your ante. Progressive jackpots payouts? Its patron's money. Take for instance $2 for 1 credit, we only credit $1.5 into the jackpot meter, and $0.5 into our pockets.

6) Texas Hold-em bonus - We pay out ante only on straight or higher, and eat your ante/bets if u lose.

7) Three-Pictures - Another version of Baccarat, but even sillier, there's no card rules and we still eat 50% if u win on 6, despite having no advantage at all.

8) Money wheel - Didnt count the exact number of partitions there are on the wheel, but trust me, it will never be player's advantage.

9) Slot machines- machines designed to take in dollars and pay out in cents.

My friends, do not believe u can earn a steady income in a casino. We build the casinos, we set the rules, we pay thousands of employees wages. We provide you free beverages, free memberships to earn points. There's no free lunch in this world, your entertainment comes at your own cost.

I m not saying do not come into a casino, treat casinos as entertainment, dont play as if tommorrow the casino will close. Make friends with each other, your visits will be more fun for us dealers and for yourselves.

  		very sad scene indeed..many lose their hard earn savings..bring agony to their family..

Main problem is they dun know that its impossible for them to win the casino in the long run..they think that they can use luck or strategy to win..

Government should do more to educate all these ppl..

  		To be frankly speaking....if u no greedy is easily can win..BUT the RULES is to BE DISCIPLINE yrself...IF u know this basic Theory u ALWAYS a winner..i been there quite sometimes is still profit for every month..

However, i would like to point out 1 thing.

Roulette - red/black seems 50/50, but chance of green is 1 out of 37. So the chance of a lose all is 2.7%

Sic bo - chance of triples = 1/6 x 1/6 x 1/6 = 1/216 = 0.46%

Sic bo - Chance of number appearing (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6) eg number 4 = 1/6 + 1/6 + 1/6 = 3/6 = 50% (you still win in event of triples.

after seeing all the games, i feel the best odds for punters would be sic bo and bacarrat.

brother u r wrong, chance of number 4 to appeal is 50%??? haha
let me correct you... u bet 3 number each 1 stake, example u bet num 1, num 2, & num 3.. open 1,2,3 mean u win 3 stake, if open 1,1,2 u win 2 stake oni, since u hit 3 time, so u still think it 50%?

wrong again ,about roullete red black chance of num 0 appeal is 1/37, but for sicbo chance of triple appeal is 1/24 so which odds better

Quite some time ago, I was over at a friend's house watching him and another friend play a board game called Axis & Allies. At one point this exact scenario came up - Kent was planning on rolling three dice and really wanted at least one six to appear. He made a comment that with three dice, his chances were 3/6 or 50%.

Kent's reasoning was, with one die, the chances of rolling a 6 were 1/6 which is correct. He also believed if he were to roll two dice, his chances were double this or 2/6. This is INCORRECT and this is where his faulty reasoning begins.

Knowing a little bit about the laws of probability, I quickly knew the fraction "2/6" for two dice and "3/6" for three dice was incorrect and spent a brief moment computing and then explaining the true percentages. Unfortunately, I do not believe I was successful in explaining to Kent why my figures were correct. Maybe I can do so here.

Obviously, with Kent's logic above, if the chances of rolling a 6 with two dice is 2/6 and the chances of rolling a 6 with three dice is 3/6, then the chances of rolling a 6 with six dice would be 6/6 !! 100%?? Of course, this is obviously incorrect. I don't care how many dice you roll, the chances of rolling a 6 will never be 100%.

  		Nice post.. take gambling for leisure and set aside money for casino so that u will not feel the pinch after losing.. if u feel losing make u mad and xian, you should just use the money and have a good time at universal studio or have a nice hotel stay. Smile

  		very gd advice. Gambling is meant as an entertainment. I usually jus play min bet all the way. Seldom double down. Plus i alway bring my gf along, firstly is to spent time together. Secondly she can help me take charge of my finance. once win $100 then colour up for her to keep inside her bag (one way traffic kind)
